The teaching in "Dr. Peter Beron" school continues all day long - from 8:30 until 5 o'clock. The pupils study according to a curriculum approbated by the Ministry of Science and Education. The Basic subjects are Bulgarian language, Mathematics, English and German.
Bulgarian language and literature
The Bulgarian language and literature classes aim to form persons, fitting the new times – who have excellent speaking and communicative skills and are strong-minded. A serious accent is put on the writing literacy of the pupils as they are provoked to create their own original texts. Having amassed a rich linguistic and literature culture our students ar4e competitive enough and they are prepared for their further improvement in other prestigious schools.
Mathematics
“Dr. Peter Beron” School pays special attention to the mathematical preparation of the pupils. The syllabus is based on the official requirements. It is in accordance with the contemporary valid didactic mathematical textbooks.We envisage additional classes for this fundamental subject. While working with the conspicuoos students in “School for Mathematics” an accent is put on applying and mastering non-standard methods in solving mathematical problems. We work with textbooks used in Sofia’s Mathematical School as well as with collections of problems that were given at different mathematical competitions.
English and German
The school pays special attention to studying foreign languages. The education begins with an intensive course in the kindergarten and continues with a special program of 10 classes per week until the end of the education. The groups are small and the teaching is in accordance with the chosen language and the level of the students. Their preparation is entrusted to highly qualified professionals who use world acknowledged educational programs. The teaching includes various activities and games. By the end of each school year the students are given the chance to have a short-term specialization in the language in a native speakers’ society. The level is certified with documents acknowledged in more than 80 countries.
The music classes in “Dr. Peter Beron” School are filled with emotions. The pupils learn and songs with pleasure. They study how to sing with the right intonation, rhythm and in an ensemble. The students have great desire to compose themselves over a proposed text. Along with the songs together with the children we put the grounding of a rich musical culture – they enjoy listening to stories about composers, writing notes and learning the secrets of Bulgarian folk music. It very often happens that we integrate different subjects – by combinig the musical education with literature, arts, English and German classes we successfully develop children’s creative thinking. In the infinite world of emotions in the classes of arts pupils acquire knowledge and skills as well. Arts is a subject that incites the imagination, provokes children to think, develops the feeling for beaty and the creativity.
