Mathematics

     Every year our students reach prize places in national and international mathematical competitions: Mathematical Tournament of Sofia, Mathematical Christmas and Easter Competitions, Mathematical Olympiads and European Kangaroo.

     The ability of our children to apply particular mathematical ground in solving various problems is evident by their excellent results in the competitive exams after the 7th grade.

     The largest number of students from private schools accepted in the American College were from “Dr. Peter Beron” School (from 12 candidates 11 were in the top of the list).

Here are our mathematical results in the near years:

1. Mathematical Olympiad, 2nd round – 2004/5 – 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
2. Mathematical Tournament of Sofia – 2003/4, 2004/5: three 2nd places in different age groups.
3. Mathematical Christmas Competition – three prize places.
4. European Kangaroo – 2003/4, 2004/5: five 1st places.
5. Mathematical Easter Competition – 2004/4, 2004/5 – excellent results with many prizes.

Bulgarian language and literature

     The Journalists’ Club and “Bodilche” (i.e. “Little Prickle”) Newspaper have more than 8 years history. The students from “Dr. Peter Beron” School publish their works in specialized issues for literature.

English

     Our students have 100% success in the examinations for level of command of English in prestigious international institutions like PITMAN.

English in action - already here

     Since last year our students have the unique chance to be in the atmosphere of the live English language without leaving their classroom. For 24 hours of intensive training carried out mainly in play situations according to the principle listen - understand - speak, the children have gained confidence that they can manage an actual communicative situation.
     This program is supervised by a sector of the Educational Group of Cambridge (Stafford House College, Cambridge Arts and Science, etc.) which aims to increase children's motivation and carry out additional classes in English so that they could deal with the specific usage of the language and overcome all the difficulties they find with it.
     The course ended with a short performance. The student showed not only their command of the language, but also their artistic talent and charm.
     After a lot of applause, laugh and tears (due to parting with Mr. Robert Falkner, a teacher of Stafford House Study) each student who went through the course with success received a diploma.
     Enraptured by children's activity and interest we will make this initiative a tradition and will aspire after bringing into it even more deversity.

Sports

     Undoubtedly our most emotional achievements are in the field of sport. Our team has its traditions and a place among the top football teams of the private schools. The ski team has won 2 gold medals and 1 silver in the last competitions alone. More than 50 students of the school are trained in our Aikido club. 38 of them were conferred eighth Q by the Aikido Association.

Arts

     Art has found its home in “Dr. Peter Beron” School. The children of our school love to paint the beauty and harmony around and their school offers them most favourable conditions for that. The classes are eligible. Art is an infinite world of fantasies and emotions. These classes are favourite to the students. The theoretical knowledge enriches their culture and makes drawing classes even more interesting and desired. By teaching children different genres and techniques they are given a chance to get close to art, to develop their imagination and turn their dreams into reality. The school is decorated with 110 children’s works. Our children love to create beauty – that is why they have so much of success!

     2001 – “Beautiful Bulgaria” National Competition for Child’s painting, organized by Bulgaria Ltd.- 1st place and a stimulating award

     2002 – Municipal Competition for drawing, organized by the Association of The Private Schools - 2nd and 3rd place in a young aged group

     2003 – One-school show in the Natoinal Assembly under the aegis of academician B. Sendov and inaugurated by Stefan Danailov – diplomas and certificates for the exhibition

     Competition of “Dervent water-colour pencils” for original drawing, organized by chain bookshops “Slanchogledi”; 1st, 3rd and 4th places and a diploma to the teavher Aneta Raicheva for most awarded students.

     2004 – “Bulgaria and Europe” Municipal Competition for most beautiful painting; Spring presentation of the private schools in NDK; 1st and 3rd places.

Music

“Dr. Peter Beron” School has a vocal choir which has gathered the “voices” of the school. They are at the root of The Christmas and The Yearly concerts of the school as well as of many other musical events in Sofia and the whole country.

Computers

The computer studies are part of the compulsory curriculum for children from 3 rd to the 7th grade. There is a modern computer hall where children study how to operate with a computer. Those who advance most go in for a programming course. The computer hall is used not only for studies but also as a club for computer competitions and tournaments.
